Rules & Guidelines

 Game #1

  • 21orBust is a game that requires a minimum of two people to play. The objective of the game is to be the first player to reach exactly 21 points by the end of a round (without going over).

  • Start the first round of the game by standing 6 feet in front of the board. Each player is designated 4 of the same colored balls. Decide which player will start and then take turns tossing the ball onto the board,  switching between players after each toss.

  • Score is not calculated until all four balls are tossed by each player. When all 4 balls have been played by both people, that is the end of one round.

Pocket Values:    Front: 5 points      Middle: 3 points     Back: 1 point

  • If a ball is made in the same pocket as the opponent, the ball then cancels the scoring toss.

  • At the end of each round the player with the highest score may choose to go first or second. A player only earns that option by passing the opponent in total points, not tying.    i.e. score is 15-15  but the last person who was in the lead still decides the playing order

  • If a player’s score is over 21 points at the end of the round, that player’s new score becomes equal to what the total score is minus 21 points. i.e. 25 points at end of a round equals 4 points at start of new round.

  • Players may choose to pass their turn, but if they do pass, they lose their turn and forfeit that ball for that round.

  • The first player to reach 21 points after a round has been completed wins, even if the opponent also reaches exactly 21 points.

Game #2

  • 21orBust Option #2 is a game that requires a minimum of two people to play. The objective of the game is to be the first player to reach 21 points or more by the end of a round.

Pocket Values:    Front: 0 points      Middle: 3 points     Back: 0 points
